MUSIC: come join me for a quick trip down a 7 song playlist!! xx
Dear Chasers! aka my favourite Armchair Travellers!..💋 (scroll down for the good stuff …!!) If this is your first time read here:
The first thing you should know about my taste in music is that its as extensive as selective memory and as obscure as fish shop gravy used to be down south in London. Maybe… hmmn, well, that’s a bit of shitty analogy haha. I don’t think would possibly know how else to explain it. Well, go on then, seen as though this is supposed to be an introduction - I might as well try… <3
If you like your music without politics or preconceptions and are seeking a break from the norm, you may have just found your new hangout. It's chill out Cap'n, But not as we know it! Crate digging adventures transformed into audio gymnastics for your in-flight entertainment ...the nearest I can get to public masturbation legally.
These Playlists are selectively crafted and curated with love by me, Chasey Delaney (aka SOPOETIC in the DJ world) and we all know that I am a music lover.
I choose playlists which I believe are made for lovers, not just of music but real soul searchers, dreamers and believers! every playlist will be different .
Please remember that not only will select different songs or a choose a change of genre. I will bring forth anything and everything, colouring outside the lines ;-)
We can relax, unwind or get excited, twisted, mangled-spangled, cry, drown out our sorrows, sing for our supper and all the while I will be aiming to serve a stiff 2 fingers to the nasty genre police ;-) with you riding shotgun by my side!
I always tend to fuck mix things up, emotions, feelings, vibes and all kinds - with music it pays off and i always get it right! All these playlists are designed for just you and me - us. There are NO RULES so expect the unexpected and join me on this ride tonight.
I always include eclectic selections in every single issue of The Daily Chase’s - Armchair Travellers *new playlists* feature.
All the fun of the fair delivered directly in your inbox every WEDNESDAY, FRIDAY and SUNDAY from this day forward.
So head down to the quality street bit for a bit of the old Aural Contraband and car boot soul from the heart, bric a brac basslines custom-crafted with you in mind all support appreciated ;-)
If you feeling like inviting anyone else around feel free to share and I’ll put their name on the list at the door! buckle down with a beverage or vice of your own choice… leave all expectations at the door! <3 xxxx
Friday 24 November 2023 Playlist
1. Elvis Presley - In The Ghetto
This is one of my favourite Elvis songs. To think of Presley means to think of my Nana’s young lady days. Also, her funeral song of Always On My Mind which to me screams sadness and melancholy in itself. It initiates thoughts of those who she might have loved and lost or never won at all. It made me mad that the one person my Nana might have longed for and loved from afar (after my own heart.. ) was not present at the church filled to the rafters with mourners but the one who was always on her mind - I didn’t see his face. I asked my Nana once if she had ever loved a man who she couldn’t be together with or who had rejected her (as I was going through this at the time) she told me yes, a secret from her young lady days. I never forget. So, In The Ghetto, on that note - is a safe bet not to be tinged with sadness from our story ;)
2. Johnny Cash - A Boy Named Sue
Now again back with my loved one’s departed. My Dad a huge Cash fan. Had a huuuge poster of Cash’s infamous middle finger picture which, funnily enough, was Johnny’s reaction to the news that Elvis had died. My Dad’s poster filled an entire wall and his memory fills my soul. This isn’t my favourite Cash song but it was my Dad’s ‘slappin-mi-thigh’ most played record and yes, it was played from an old vinyl record.
3. Chip Taylor & The New Ukrainians - Fuck All Those Perfect People (Alternative Version)
4. Lou Reed - Romeo Had Juliette
5. Robbie Williams - One For My Baby
6. Frank Sinatra - My Way
The closest I got to being on the mind of my crush, my muse, my nemesis blues..x
7. The Beatles - Ob-la-di-ob-la-da (Life Goes On)
Thought I’d leave you on a cheery note with one of those ‘can’t get out of your head songs’ hahaha.. Thanks for tuning in!! Please leave me some love if you enjoyed. <3
