Come take a trip with me all here in one place a quick 7 song playlist!! xx
Dear Chasers! aka my favourite Armchair Travellers!..💋 (scroll down for the good stuff …!!) If this is your first time read here:
The first thing you should know about my taste in music is that its as extensive as selective memory and as obscure as fish shop gravy used to be down south in London. Maybe… hmmn, well, that’s a bit of shitty analogy haha. I don’t think would possibly know how else to explain it. Well, go on then, seen as though this is supposed to be an introduction - I might as well try… <3
If you like your music without politics or preconceptions and are seeking a break from the norm, you may have just found your new hangout. It's chill out Cap'n, But not as we know it! Crate digging adventures transformed into audio gymnastics for your in-flight entertainment ...the nearest I can get to public masturbation legally.
These Playlists are selectively crafted and curated with love by me, Chasey Delaney (aka SOPOETIC in the DJ world) and we all know that I am a music lover.
I choose playlists which I believe are made for lovers, not just of music but real soul searchers, dreamers and believers! every playlist will be different .
Please remember that not only will select different songs or a choose a change of genre. I will bring forth anything and everything, colouring outside the lines ;-)
We can relax, unwind or get excited, twisted, mangled-spangled, cry, drown out our sorrows, sing for our supper and all the while I will be aiming to serve a stiff 2 fingers to the nasty genre police ;-) with you riding shotgun by my side!
I always tend to fuck mix things up, emotions, feelings, vibes and all kinds - with music it pays off and i always get it right! All these playlists are designed for just you and me - us. There are NO RULES so expect the unexpected and join me on this ride tonight.
I always include eclectic selections in every single issue of The Daily Chase’s - Armchair Travellers *new playlists* feature.
All the fun of the fair delivered directly in your inbox every WEDNESDAY, FRIDAY and SUNDAY from this day forward.
So head down to the quality street bit for a bit of the old Aural Contraband and car boot soul from the heart, bric a brac basslines custom-crafted with you in mind all support appreciated ;-)
If you feeling like inviting anyone else around feel free to share and I’ll put their name on the list at the door! buckle down with a beverage or vice of your own choice… leave all expectations at the door! <3 xxxx
Friday 10 November 2023 Playlist
1. Cigarettes After Sex - Neon Moon (cover)
This is an epic version of the Neon Moon song by Brooks & Dunn released back in 1991 in the Country genre. My Dad used to like a bit of country music but he never played this one because I first heard it on an Instagram reel a year ago. Then when looking it up, about the same time, I was delighted to find a cover by this band. I love their own song: Apocalypse too. I made a mix featuring this one called STAY BACK its the very first song on the mix if you fancy hearing it very quickly on the link above. Back to this cover song. It’s gorgeous and fitting for today’s mood.
2. Space Monkeys - Inside My Soul
This band come from Middleton in Greater Manchester. They were underrated in the 90’s and got knocked from the spotlight by Oasis taking off. These were like my B-side band, I like to support the underdog and sit in dodgy bedsits, looking up in awe at the guy I happened to fancy, feeling shocked and repelled when he pulled out his bent-as-a-banana c*ck, sucking bongs made out of bottle and a smoking buckets made out of bathtubs! I had all their songs on a taped CD because one of my mates had a friend or a brother who was in the band (or something like that!). lol ;-)
3. Arctic Monkeys - Mardy Bum
Just a little palate cleanser… <3
4. Shotty Horroh - Winner’s Anthem
My step-brother’s gym song. This guy is another local rapper from Manchester. More than a rapper, more than a music artist he is a wordsmith. This is the only one of his songs that I can really listen to over and over again. Rap is a thing of MY PAST for me and I’ve sort of outgrown it these days. In other words I am too boring to FEEL it now.
5. James - Sit Down ft. Joe Duddell & String Quartet
THIS version was recorded in support of a Homelessness Charity Fundraiser. Those lyrics “those who find themselves touched by madness” of course, it’s so close to the bone of relevance. I absolutely adore this man. My Dad and I used to sing this song together drinking coffee beside the fire. He used to ROAR THE LYRICS OUT LOUD. Rest in Peace Dad.
6. Oasis - Sitting Here In Silence On My Own
An actual B-Side track on their Let There Be Love album. Like it..? “sobs” I <3 love it.
7. The Killers - Mr Brightside (Jacques Le Cont’s Thin White Duke Remix)
Bit of an uplifter after all these quite heavy track choices. Thank you for your company this evening. xxx
