Maybe… hmmn, well, that’s a bit of shitty analogy haha. I don’t think would possibly know how else to explain it. Well, go on then, seen as though this is supposed to be an introduction - I might as well try… <3 if you like your music without politics or preconceptions and are seeking a break from the norm, you may have just found your new hangout. These Playlists are selectively crafted and curated with love by me, Chasey Delaney (aka SOPOETIC in the DJ world) and we all know that I am a music lover. 1. Chuggin Edits - Toms Preacher Man
Kicking off the new year with one foot in the past (as you do…) I bring to you another Tom’s Diner EDIT - Nooo! Not another one I hear you say, that tracks been remixed, reworked, edited and ripped off more than my sister’s slaggy knickers! My sister - not yours of course. Well, historically, I used to date the guy who produced this one. I have no hard feelings, no more stalkerish feelings, no feelings whatsoever towards the stranger who is behind this song but there is a wee story about the instrumental part (sorry if all my technical jargon is throwing off the scent here! hahah) the Preacher Man element - I know nothing of tech. He used to have on his Nokia Mobile as a caller ringtone - so, If I rang him I would here the standard ringing then of course this music would kick in also “The Only One Who Could Ever Reach Me…” wasn’t me in the end. follow and support him on SoundCloud here or buy his music on Bandcamp here
2. Mine - Jeff Haze (Ben Spalding Edit)
THIS was actually put out on 9 December 2023 but it has all the vibes for the coming year and it’s a banger of a track! I love it.. I am totally unbiased *coughs* because I’ve conversed with Mr Spalding on many occasions in the past and he has a wicked personality. He also owns PuzzleProjectsMusic and showcases other artists and labels. I often remember ‘it could have been me..’ I was this >close.. I touched it! Nah, my mixing was never up to scratch or on par with the kind of people who Ben promotes. Needless to say - I am NOT on his books haha. Ben is on SoundCloud here and here.
3. LUP INO - How Could You Break My Heart
This one posted 23hrs ago and it is “reet up my street” and really speaks for itself it’s a FREE DOWNLOAD so go grab yourself a copy because you will fucking love it. A refreshing cleanser in preparation for our fourth track incoming next. I can’t think of better intro track than this one. Just a side note, that although I am hardly doing this track justice with the commentary, LUP INO has been smashing it every time since way back when I was doing My DJ Mixes and I just couldn’t resist a small plug for myself , the link it to my ‘inactive account’ until I update payment for the next bill which I do periodically and that’s when all my 300+ mixes will be available for you to access. 4. Francois K - Dancer Dub (Live Stems Mix)
This totally improvised 14 minute Live Stems Mix of Gino Soccio’s ‘Dancer’ was performed during a Twitch stream on March 19 2022 (see what I mean about me with feet clinging to the past… one step forward three steps back! ha!) using Traktor DJ Studio and Native Instruments D2 Controller. It has the sort of hypnotic flow that feels like a perfect fit for frolicking into 2024 and getting lost in sound at an after hours party in a dark room full of sweaty bodies. You can watch a much shorter clip of this ‘live stems dub’ on YouTube as I was performing it, obviously edited down from its original length watch it here. In the meantime Enjoy!
5. Siggatunez - Come Together
Berlin-based DJ, producer and live act Siggatunez drops this long awaited '‘theBasement Discos EP’ - COME TOGETHER contains three original tracks; uplifting house anthem ‘Come Together’, funky deep house tune ‘Decisions’, breaky, jazz-infused ‘HOw U Feel’. Hamburg-based duo Hard Drive Library make their casita comeback with a stripped-back, belearic remix of ‘come together’ BUY: on bandcamp here.
6. Jason Hersco - Low Again (Album: With Me)
