It’s been a while (maybe I posted today because I am clearing my head, my desk and catching up on the backlog of stuff and ideas that have been sitting in my forehead for weeks and hours and days… (I have a massive forehead jam-packed to the rafters with lots of things simmering away, on their way out or waiting for another rainy day!) So, so proud of that special place that seems to save the day when the rest of the grey fluff in my skull’s cave where the brain lays, seems to be always swinging back and forth on a fucking pendulum… chemically imbalanced, probably physically unbalanced too as I have penchant for holding my head down low and never high enough to just my droopy chest out, long enough to stand straight enough to know exactly how good i am doing as another struggling human being. Fuuuck me! I thought I was going to keep this TRY ME TUESDAY EDITION of The Daily Chase! Newsletter a bit Light & Breazy….. now just in the catchup introduction section I’ve churned out all this! LOL.
MY RELATIONSHIP WITH POETRY CHAT:
I had fallen out of love with poetry the more involved I got with a Poetry Group. The more I spent on memberships, followed the tutor’s advise, worked harder than ever before on my poems, the further, deeper, harder - I fell to the floor with defeat. Then I found this platform to express myself in more words than I could condense into small spaces so tightly more condensed than a tin of Campbell’s Chicken Soup. I felt just as thick and sludgy and stuck and to be fair…. the more I tried to absorb the more it gave me the proverbial ‘shits’ personified in the poetry I began pushing back out into the world. I preffered to write on substack and thought I was about as poetic as falling from a dangerous rope bridge only to be caught by the end of your cock by a twig that itself was caught between rock and a grass bed made of roses. (SEEEEEE SOPOETIC!).
I used to use the handle SOPOETIC for my DJ NAME and POET handle. It is an abreviation of SOUL PORN ECLECTIC (not just me preempted myself for a fall) not making a massive statement that I could never live up to. Not me being smart or sarcastic or pedantic with word play. Anyway, I fucked that name off on the advice from the Tutor who said my name Chasey Delaney has a ring to it.. he probably meant like an arsehole does as oppose to the extra-celistial (“ one cannot even speak such word as to pronounce such sound to say that word (I might have made up) therefore thy cannot spell it either.. hurrrah!”) rings around the planet Saturn? Am I riiight??? I’m not going to go back and check my planets. They’re all equally devastating- fierce and fantastic the same way that I believe so are all us HUMANS. I decided to give up the Tutor in the end and not my love of writing poems… NO I AM NOT A POET (I have to still shout AT myself - not. I’m joking!). I don’t want to be a poet anymore. I have been fingering a gorgeous big blue hardback table display edition of a book called The World’s of J.R.R. Tolkien - The Places That Inspired Middle Earth written and currated (with immensly beautiful illustrations, photos, maps, paintings, art, diagrams,..) by John Garth mine is a loan from the Library but you can purchase a copy HERE for around £8 (very inexpensive for such an incredibly stunning BIG hardback). Amazon sell it too but about £25 was the price I spotted. Shop around»>! OMG. To go out and buy this book is NOT THE PROMPT.. haha. It is the image source. The Prompt I wish to suggest to you (although you might think of something even better than mine, once you’ve been inspired by what you see - in that case SHOW ME YOURS TOO!)
