[03.11.23] ARMCHAIR TRAVELLERS! Aural Contraband...💋
Come take a trip with me all here in one place a quick 7 song playlist!! xx
Dear Chasers! aka my favourite Armchair Travellers!..💋
The first thing you should know about my taste in music is that its as extensive as selective memory and as obscure as fish shop gravy used to be down south in London. Maybe… hmmn, well, that’s a bit of shitty analogy haha. I don’t think would possibly know how else to explain it. Well, go on then, seen as though this is supposed to be an introduction - I might as well try… <3
If you like your music without politics or preconceptions and are seeking a break from the norm, you may have just found your new hangout. It's chill out Cap'n, But not as we know it! Crate digging adventures transformed into audio gymnastics for your in-flight entertainment ...the nearest I can get to public masturbation legally.
These Playlists are selectively crafted and curated with love by me, Chasey Delaney (aka SOPOETIC in the DJ world) and we all know that I am a music lover.
I choose playlists which I believe are made for lovers, not just of music but real soul searchers, dreamers and believers! every playlist will be different .
Please remember that not only will select different songs or a choose a change of genre. I will bring forth anything and everything, colouring outside the lines ;-)
We can relax, unwind or get excited, twisted, mangled-spangled, cry, drown out our sorrows, sing for our supper and all the while I will be aiming to serve a stiff 2 fingers to the nasty genre police ;-) with you riding shotgun by my side!
I always tend to fuck mix things up, emotions, feelings, vibes and all kinds - with music it pays off and i always get it right! All these playlists are designed for just you and me - us. There are NO RULES so expect the unexpected and join me on this ride tonight.
I always include eclectic selections in every single issue of The Daily Chase’s - Armchair Travellers *new playlists* feature.
All the fun of the fair delivered directly in your inbox every WEDNESDAY, FRIDAY and SUNDAY from this day forward.
So head down to the quality street bit for a bit of the old Aural Contraband and car boot soul from the heart, bric a brac basslines custom-crafted with you in mind all support appreciated ;-)
If you feeling like inviting anyone else around feel free to share and I’ll put their name on the list at the door! buckle down with a beverage or vice of your own choice… leave all expectations at the door! <3 xxxx
Friday 3 November 2023 Playlist
1. The Doors - Five To One
A song that I love from the Waiting For The Sun album 1968 psychedelic rock that really hits the spot to start us off. Check this out..!!
2. Bon Jovi - Only Lonely
A song from the 7800 Farrenheit album of 1985. I haven’t heard this for ages but fancies a bit of the old retro hard rock. Yes! Rock is the correct spelling ;-)
3. Talisman - Just Between Us
A song from their 1990 album ’Talisman’ I love the album art. I’m listening to this alone wishing I had a cold beer and someone to hold. It’s not that hard for a bit of hard rock.
4. Danger Danger - I’m Still Thinking About You
Another song with a wicked album cover and for a ‘power ballad’ it’s a lovely subtle hit that I must have missed back in 1991 when it was first released. I believe its from the band’s Screw It! album which, I confess I haven’t heard anything else on it, maybe I’ll have a go at the full lot another day, some other time.
5. Dio - Night People
THIS !! this is definitely a song outside of my comfort zone but it came under my radar and I thought yeah man! this is definitely a third November type of pallet cleansing track! I say beyond my comfort because I have always steered clear of the scariest genre (my uncultured younger self used to believe) HEAVY METAL but this one is from back in the days of 1987 so it doesn’t feel too spooky. I Love it. Dream Evil Album.
6. Creedence Clearwater Revival - Run Through The Jungle
A song we all remember - except I don’t because I wasn’t around in the 1970’s! I have never heard this one before today and I am so glad that I found it! I can sense a theme sifting in here through the tracks. I LOVE the over art! I mean its a bit ordinary but 70’s vibes all the way. I wonder if these were called the American Beatles? I’d say not because this song is blues rock. The album is called Cosmos Factory. Not bad for our penultimate playlist choice. Bon voyage!
7. George Thorogood & The Destroyers - Bad To The Bone
This last song is a classic ! Title song from their Bad To The Bone album of 1982 (the year I was born!) In fact they probably made it just for me! Just messing I do think that this blues rock song is an absolute anthem (of its own kind). It really does make for a great opener song too but, on this occasion and in this playlist it has found its place, like a teacup finding it place on a saucer, where it fits in just perfectly. I’m sending this out early afternoon 4PM BST (UK Time) so that it doesn’t impact on your evening of debauchery, frolicking fun and reckless abandon… Have a nice Friday night .. x
